Welcome to 2021. I’m sure you’re as relieved as us to be here.
While you’re staying the in Northern Rivers or even if you’re just doing a Byron Bay day trip, we thought we should share some local knowledge. After you’ve been on one of our tours and you’re wanting to keep the good times rolling, head into town for an afternoon cocktail. Chances are the cocktail you’ll be sipping on will have some of the spirits you sampled earlier that day at the distillery. So, while you’re on our Brookies gin tour, be sure to look out for it when you’re out at the restaurants later.
Without further ado, here are some of our top picks for local bars.
The Balcony
Across from The Loft lies this Hamptons-style hideaway. With a wine list that is wonderfully varied, a huge range of local beers and brews, The Balcony is a must-visit. Please do yourself a favour and try their paella, which you can often see the chefs preparing right in front of your eyes. Absolutely delicious.
Yulli’s
Originally all the way from Sydney, some groovy lads and lasses have brought their modern-Asian restaurant and their enticing range of craft beers to the heart of Byron. Yulli’s has the best vibes in town and their drinks are deliciously tempting. We actually stop in at Yulli’s on our tours and run you through a beer pairing with their delicious food. So, when you come on your with us, there’s no chance you’ll miss this awesome venue.
Bang Bang
Probably best know for their delicious food, Bang Bang also do some killer drinks; so, don’t forget to to check out their drinks menu. You’ll soon be sipping on some of Byron’s best drink concoctions. Not drinking? Not too worry! Bang Bang has two non-alcoholic cocktails on the list. And these mocktails are every bit as fancy and fabulous as their boozy friends.
The Loft
A short wander from the sand and surf of Byron’s Main Beach (or what’s left of it after the recent storm), is where you’ll find The Loft. Along with their good selection of local and international wines and long list of spirits, is the classic-meets-innovative cocktail menu. Let the modern- chic/boho vibe set the mood for your night.
The Bolt Hole
The Blot Hole is a hidden treasure in the heart of Byron Bay. A cocktail, whisky and gin bar that highlights the open panoramic views of the beautiful Byron hinterland and the breathtaking sunsets. We highly recommend taking the time to do their whisky and gin experiences. Work you way through their extensive list and get your tastebuds lost.
The Mez Club
Did coronavirus cancel your European getaway? Should you be basking under the Mediterranean sun right now? A night at the Mez Club, and that overseas trip is all but forgotten. The Mez Club is a sensory experience, which will transport you across Europe, Morocco and the Middle East. While soaking up the dreamy setting and indulging in shareable mezze-style dishes, cast your attention to their signature cocktails. The list is long and lovely.
